Here’s What Really Happened To The Popular Kids

The king and queen of prom have more issues than you.

High school was pretty great for me. I never really had any problems (except for my Ugg boots and sweatpants phase). I was robbed for the title of prom king senior year, but now that I know what really happens to the popular kids, I’m kind of glad.

A new study was published this week in Child Development that suggests teens who try and act older than their age will face more issues later on in life. Joseph P. Allen, the head researcher of the study said in a statement,”It appears that while so-called cool teens’ behavior might have been linked to early popularity, over time, these teens needed more and more extreme behaviors to try to appear cool.” The study followed 184 students from the age of 13 to 23. I don’t really disagree with him. A few of the kids who tried to be all hot shit in school have been in and out of jail. The popular kids are said to have more issues with drugs and alcohol later in their life.

Just look at the Facebook pages of the kids who used to rule your high school. They once made your life a living hell and now some can’t make their child support payments and others are slinging crack rack behind the local Piggly Wiggly. It’s a sad story. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll get back to spraying this Evian mist on my face.
