Relationship Spotting: A Healthy Relationship With Your Appearance

Written by emilyc

After many instances of standing in front of the mirror with my roommate pointing out whatever stupid thing we are insecure about, I came to the sudden realization that it is totally pointless to do that. It was only ok in Mean Girls when they looked in the mirror and complained about their calves and pore size. In real life, it gets you nowhere.

Sure, we all feel insecure about some aspect of ourselves:  have body dysmorphia-esque issues; my roommate has facial dysmorphia-esque issues. What comes from dwelling on our perceived flaws? Stress and difficulty enjoying all the fun things in life. Simply put, don’t let insecurities get in the way of living life and loving it.

With a major in international business and years of being surrounded by ill-fitting suits and all the wrong shoes, she learned that the importance of fashion needs to be communicated to the world.
