Written by corey

As we look towards warmer weather, we have to also take note of what we’re going to be wearing and accessorizing with in the spring. Are we doing the statement necklace and maxi trend? I had a chance to talk with Dana Gordon, the lady behind Dana Rebecca Designs. There are some pretty notable celebrities that rock Dana Rebecca designs like Lupita Nyong’o, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence and the list goes on!

TLS: What are some key jewelry pieces to have this spring?

Dana Gordon:I love a bold, colorful earring choice for spring, like our Jennifer Yamina floral stud. Embracing color in my daily jewelry wardrobe has been making all my other pieces really pop! And, of course, I never leave the house without stacking on skinny bangles – the more the merrier. I’ve also been gravitating towards the pendant necklace for this spring; layering one with everyday jewelry, it elevates any outfit.

What pieces should we avoid?

I don’t believe in fashion rules. You can wear whatever you want, from jewelry to stilettos, if you make it your own!

Are there any stand out pieces we should know about for spring?

For everyday jewels, I prefer fuss-free and chic jewelry like our newly launched Reese Brooklyn collection. I love the idea of stacking earrings in multiple ear holes, and we’ve been noticing more ladies mixing and matching their mini studs here at the office! For making more of a statement, I go for feminine & edgy show-stoppers with a pop of color, especially with earrings.

How do we make sure our spring jewelry pieces aren’t overshadowing our personalities?

Always dress to your own personal style and follow your own fashion instincts. I believe more is more and your jewelry can only enhance your overall look and personality. Layer up all your daintiest pieces for a statement look, or pare it down to one or two bold pieces for keeping it chic & simple. Just because clothing is minimalist for spring doesn’t mean your jewelry has to be!

Personally, I really love Dana’s idea of throwing out fashion rules. It’s stupid to always be on trend and not be yourself. Loving her tips on following your own personal style too.
