Style Spotting: I’m Not Over Spikes

Written by emilyc

I am so not over this spikes trend yet. I rely on spiked clothing and accessories for everything from giving a little edge to really soft and sweet outfit, to impaling anyone who tries to steal my chartreuse clutch on the dark streets of NYC at night. I enjoy an accessory that doubles as a weapon. Here are some of my faves:

A spiked collared shirt

A spiked shoe of any kind (I’m seeing many knockoffs lately, but nothing beats the original Jeffrey Campbell)

Spikey headbands (like the one below from Urban Outfitters)

Any spiked jewelry (especially this spiked ring from Gemma Simone’s “Spike Couture” collection)

With a major in international business and years of being surrounded by ill-fitting suits and all the wrong shoes, she learned that the importance of fashion needs to be communicated to the world. To her, fashion is on the same level as charity work and feeding hungry children. Emily can be found frolicking the streets of her gayborhood enjoying the off-color humor of the gays.
