Thanks Mom!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and I’m excited as hell to celebrate this year.  It’s always a day full of good food, fun gifts, things that smell nice, and this year I’m getting in on the action too!

My mom has been an enormous help with my infant son, so I’m actually making this Mother’s Weekend, and showering her with a boatload of things that any mother would love.  Every woman loves a good perfume, and one of my new favorites is by Badgley Mischka’s Couture.  She’s going to get all excited when she sees a box that says Badgley on it, because she’ll assume that I’m finally getting married.  But no, I’m going to remain happily single, and she’ll have to use the sweet musky scent of this perfume to cover up the scent of disappointment.

And my mom deserves to flip flop around this world in good style with good fortune, so I’m getting us a matching pair of evil eye flips from Dini’s!  These fun flip flops are custom-adorned with gorgeous embellishments on Havaianas… so it’s basically your fave flop with a little more flair.  We love that.  These flips are a nice way of saying “hey mom, i’ll try to use these evil eye flip flops to keep sketchy men away, and you’ll appreciate that.”  For $51, you can’t go wrong, she’ll wear them all summer long.

But let’s all be serious for a minute, the best part of ANY holiday is the food.  Lately everyone I know has been chowing down on OMG Dessert’s amazing Mocha Lorraines.  OMG. They’re like ruggalach from heaven, only better.  Dipping these in some coffee is basically the best part of any day, and for $18.00, why not?  The only issue is that they’re hard to put down, and that could potentially result in some nasty summertime weight gain.  I say it’s worth the risk though!
