The MVMNT Cafe in London was created to spruce up an Industrial lot just in time for the London Olympics, last year. It is a great example of eco-friendly design.
The idea was to design and build a pop-up cafe in only 16 days. Built from recycled shipping containers, painted wood, and scaffolding, the cafe opened on time and served locally grown food and vegan options. The cafe was a careful collaboration of several artists that painted the place, and created water-resistant furniture out of recycled kites. Profits from the cafe went to help disadvantaged communities in the area. The careful collaboration and design, the creators of the MVMNT cafe put together something not only interesting design-wise, but also fully functional, and eco-friendly.
