Upon my regular surfing of the internet today, I noticed a list of things banned in Iran. A few years ago I lived with a Persian man (that’s Iranian for “Iranian” since they typically don’t like being called “Iranian” if they’re the type that’s fled their homeland), who used to speak of the perils of being Persian all the time. I was born in the US to multi-cultural parents, but they apparently had adopted the mentality of the Iranian government- we weren’t allowed to have dogs, cats, protein supplements, Barbie, or grills. Thankfully, my home was supportive of my ponytail and mannequin habit. Here’s the complete list:

these are the reasons we left the motherland. my life wouldn’t be complete without my grills, dogs and protein supplements.
I find it funny that pet dogs and mannequins are right next to each other.
well ya, it’s dangerous to group mannequins with george michael
I also love that studying political science and spiked hair are on the same list. It’s like Iran only bans what was trending on google in 2003.
