Chicago is a city that absolutely prides itself on public art installations. If you have never been there, just imagine a beautifully pristine place similar to New York but without the smell of desperation and 3 feet of city grime. We had the pleasure of visiting The Cloud Gate in the AT&T plaza of Chicago recently and were very impressed by the obvious dedication to art such as the gargantuan bean, which is basically a highly polished chrome sculpture roughly the size of a semi-truck or Tyra Banks’s forehead. Old people posed with it, children were mesmerized by it, and we had a bit of fun photographing the reflections of our reflection. See if you can spot us in the photos.
Editor note: look how cranky Bryce Gruber is in this picture from a long day of photographs.
