Kaieteur falls, Guyana

South America is my new travel crush. I have never been there before, but besides the spiny penis-destroying fish, tarantulas the size of dinner plates, and man-eating piranha, every time I see a picture of the beautiful rainforests and waterfalls I just want to leave behind my flashy Manhattan life and live amongst the tribes-people wearing nothing but body paint and a leather thong.

Kaieteur Falls, on the Potaro River in Guyana is one such waterfall. The falls in total are 822 ft high, about three times as high as Niagara Falls.

Kaieteur is considered one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world, a rival of some of the most intense waterfalls in India, even during monsoon season.

Don’t these photos make you want to jump in a barrel and just roll over the side?
