Twitterella: The Funniest One Yet

Written by Bryce

When we first heard that Whitney Cummings, a regular on the Chelsea Lately Show, wanted to be our next #twitterella, you can imagine we were brimming with excitement.  You can find her@WhitneyCummings, where she’ll be tweeting about her own goofy thoughts like a this recent Valentine’s Day tweet:

You probably already know this 27 year old comedienne from Los Angeles from her stints on Conan and Chelsea Lately (you think I should tell her about my torrid love affair with Chuy at Sundance a few weeks ago?), and from touring the country as a general funny-pants-McGee.

She only tweets one or two times a day so she doesn’t annoy the public, and we appreciate her for this!  When we asked her if she uses Facebook, StumbleUpon, or Asmallworld, her response was simply, “Twitter is the only one I really do. Facebook is getting annoying with all the sending hugs and bears and nonsense. I think they may have jumped the shark. The other two I’ve never heard of so, thanks for making me feel old.”

Whoops!

Whitney, if you had to shout out your top 5 other tweeps, who would they be, and why?

  • @jarradpaul – Because his whole Twitter thing is making fun of people who are douchebags on Twitter, people who use Twitter to brag and name drop and such. He pretends to be a Hollywood idiot. It’s hilarious.
  • @eddiepepitone – He’s a hilarious comedian and his tweets are just crazy and funny and insane.
  • @johncmayer – Face it, world. He’s funny. He does sincere ones and funny ones and it’s a refreshing combination. You never know which John Mayer you’re going to get. And as a comedian I travel so much, I like following people who travel a lot as well and post about it because it makes me feel less lonely. (although we think he’s been a total schmuck lately)
  • @redhourben – Ben Stiller. I mean, he’s Ben Stiller. But also he posts links where you can get involved in great charities. He uses Twitter to do amazing philanthropic things.
  • @jordanrubin – A friend of mine referred to him as “the Miles Davis of twitter.” He’s a comedian who posts literally brilliant joke after brilliant joke.

As always, you can find the me @brycegruber and @luxuryspot!
