5 Unique and Useful Travel Apps

If you’re traveling anytime soon, consider downloading these useful travel apps.

As someone who’s planning a few trips in the near future, I, myself, have been looking for some apps to ease yet excite my trip planning and travels.

Below are 5 unique and super useful travel apps for iPhone which will make you even more excited about your next getaway:

1. Tripomatic Trip Planner

Tripomatic is a dream come true for a traveler like myself! If you like to make thorough plans for your trips (such as day-to-day itineraries), then Tripomatic is the perfect app for you. The app allows you to read detailed information on as well as “pin” different sights and attractions to a certain day(s) of your trip on an organized (and aesthetically appealing) interface. Tripomatic also offers some offline maps, which is useful for those who need to navigate from place to place while on the go.

2. Hotel Tonight

Hotel Tonight is self-proclaimed to be “the night out with friends that turned into a road trip to Vegas” and “birthday getaway you spontaneously book for this weekend.” The app, which displays “basic, hip, and luxe” hotel accommodations available for you to book immediately up to 7 days in advance, is free to download and your best resource for last-minute trip planning.

3. OffMaps 2 – Offline Maps

OffMaps2 is an upgraded travel-map app which allows you to search, access, and store up-to-date city maps from around the world without internet or data connection. It not only provides you with a few maps for free, but offers over a thousand maps from international destinations for just $0.33. OffMaps’ updated version also allows you to read about tourist landmarks (i.e. Eiffel Tower) and even make some dinner reservations – now that’s one to add to your list of useful travel apps. $0.99

4. Trail Wallet

Trail Wallet is an expense-tracking app for all of your travel endeavors. The app has settings which allow you to set a daily budget for yourself, track your expenses throughout your trip, and show you with an easy-to-follow pie chart whether you’ve reached or exceeded your total trip budget. Trail Wallet also has a built-in currency converter, so you don’t have to worry about making miscalculations. To keep the theme of saving money going, Trail Wallet is free to download.

5. WorldWize

WorldWize is not for everyone, but surely, for those extroverted travelers seeking to make connections with others on-the-go! The app, using your manually-added trip details, displays a list of app-users who are planning on traveling to the same destination, and at the same time, as yourself. Chats must be mutually agreed upon in order to begin and users often exchange travel recommendations or organize meet ups. WorldWize is free to download.
