Worth Reading: Unstoppable In Stilettos

Written by Bryce

A book worth reading… if you’re into living life to the fullest.

The title of this must-read book might suggest another girly, shallow novella filled with tales of Prada and man-shopping, but you’d be wrong to assume all that.  This book is the formula for happiness and appreciation for ANY girl living with any perceived setback- whether physical, emotional, or otherwise.  We all have setbacks, and in the case of author Lauren Ruotolo the setback is just the kind of awful mountain that can only be overcome with a dose of adventure, love, and kickass heels to help her little 4’2″ frame get the attention it deserves.

Lauren was born with a rare genetic condition that leaves most people wheelchair bound, but she had other plans.  She wore heels. Had boyfriends. Looked super cute in mini dresses (which were obviously tailored nicely because a mini dress on most women would be a gown on Lauren). Became a high-powered magazine executive (ya, the mags you probably have strewn about your floor right now).  Not only did Lauren NOT buckle to a seemingly tragic health issue- she got bolder and brighter. She struts her stuff around Manhattan in the sexiest heels you can imagine, has statement-worthy crimson hair, and according to famed stylist Derek Warburton, “the whole room turns to soak up her energy when Lauren walks in.”

I was hoping the book would give me a little taste of how to live each day with the same sense of vigor an appreciation, and it totally did. Each page has a little image of a heel with an inspirational quote. My favorite is this one:
