You know you love me.

For all you Gossip Girl addicts out there, like myself, you are probably a bit shocked/disgusted at the current situation that has developed between Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle) and Lily Bass/van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford). If you have missed the past few episodes, let me brush you up to date:

Lily’s husband Bart Bass has passed away, and she and Rufus have quite the past. They were an item when they were younger, but went their separate ways as they grew up. Now here is where the situation gets sticky… Lily admits to having been pregnant with Rufus’ child but giving it up for adoption. Lily’s daughter Serena (Blake Lively) dates Rufus’ son Dan (Penn Badgley), so it seems the two children share a half brother/sister.

I thought this show took place in Manhattan, not back country West Virginia. At the end of the last episode, the Humphrey and Van der Woodsen familly seemed a little too comfortable with the situation, which is a little bit too incestuous for my liking. Though they aren’t blood related, the thought of sharing a sibling with my significant other makes my stomach turn. But hey, that’s just me.

  • Well obviously Dan and Serena aren’t too comfortable with it… especially Lily and Rufus’ growing relationship. Even though they don’t share blood- it’s a little twisted. I’m curious as to what happens when the kid actually shows up.
