Having a fire place in New York City is just as difficult as it seems. Except for this one and very rare instance, my freshman year of college: I rented a small one-bedroom in the village and my apartment had a fire place. Now, did it work? Probably not, and to be honest I never took the chance to try it out. But what I did was beautifully decorate it with voses and picture frames and put tiny candles where the wood was supposed to go.
