Apple cider vinegar for skin is the cheap, DIY beauty treatment you’ve been looking for.

Apple cider vinegar is one of the most useful ingredients to have in your home and medicine cabinet. It’s not only one a healthy addition to many meals, but it’s also a great addition to your skin care and beauty routine. It can fight infections, promote healthy digestion, and can do wonders for your hair, nails, and skin! Here are a few ways to use apple cider vinegar for skin health:

Apple Cider Vinegar Soak — Fill your bathtub with hot water (hot, not scalding), and pour eight ounces of apple cider vinegar into the tub. Soak in the water for up to 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water once finished. Apple cider vinegar will help to balance out the pH levels of your skin, restoring the acid layer that protects your skin from damage. This soak will help to get rid of any bacteria living on your skin!

Apple Cider Vinegar Sunburn Treatment — If you’ve spent too much time in the sun, this is definitely a remedy you’ll want to try! Mix half a cup of apple cider with four cups of warm water. Dip a washcloth into the mix and apply it gently to the red, burned areas. The vinegar will help to balance your skin’s pH level, prevent your skin from blistering, and speed up the healing process. Add a bit of egg white to the mixture to provide your skin with the nutrients needed to recover from the burns.

Apple Cider Vinegar Facial Toner — Mix a tablespoon of vinegar into two cups of warm water. Wash your face with warm water, and pat it dry with a towel. Dip a cotton ball into the apple cider vinegar mixture, and apply it gently to your face. Don’t bother rinsing your face; the smell will go away fairly quickly. This treatment will help to tone and tighten up your skin, reducing the visibility of any sags or wrinkles. The alpha-hydroxy acids in the apple cider vinegar will help to shrink your pores, as well as stimulate circulation to your skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar Scalp Rinse — If your hair has been looking dull and your scalp has been itching, this is the remedy for you! Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with a cup and a half of warm water. Step into the shower and run warm water over your hair. Pour the apple cider vinegar mixture over your hair, and let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse with warm water, and use a gentle conditioner to finish the treatment. The apple cider vinegar will kill off bacteria on your scalp, get rid of debris and residue (built up from the hair products you use), and give your hair a beautiful luster. It’s an amazing hair and scalp treatment that works! This may be one of the easiest and most common ways to use apple cider vinegar for skin, and for good reason– it works.

Apple Cider Vinegar Deodorizer — Got stinky feet? Fill a basin with warm water, and add in a cup of apple cider vinegar. Soak your feet in the mixture for 15 minutes, rinse with warm water, and dry off. The antiseptic properties of the vinegar will kill off the odor-causing bacteria on your feet, disinfecting them and leaving them smelling fresh.

Apple Cider Vinegar Bruise Treatment — If you want to get rid of any bruises faster, apple cider vinegar can do the trick! Soak a cotton ball in straight apple cider vinegar, place it on your skin, and use a bandage to hold it in place. Let it sit for an hour. The anti-inflammatory properties of apple cider vinegar will reduce swelling and speed up healing, as well as boosting circulation.
