Here’s how to beat morning sickness!

One of the worst side effects of pregnancy is morning sickness. There are few things worse than feeling like you need to vomit first thing in the morning, but the sad truth is that there are SO MANY things that contribute to your morning sickness: low blood sugar, foul odors, hormonal changes, vitamin deficiencies, fatigue, stress, and the list goes on.

If you want to find a way to defeat morning sickness, you’ll be glad to know we’ve compiled a list of some of the best natural third trimester nausea solutions. Read on to find out how you can avoid nausea during your third trimester:

  • Get more Vitamin B6 — Taking more Vitamin B6 (25 mg every 8 hours) has been proven to reduce your risk of vomiting, or it may be able to deal with the nausea completely. Have a B6 supplement first thing in the morning, and you’ll have far less trouble with morning sickness.
  • Try Brewer’s Yeast –– You may have a hard time taking this particular supplement, but it’s worth it! Brewer’s yeast is loaded with B vitamins, all of which will help to combat your morning sickness. Have a bit of brewer’s yeast in your morning yoghurt as one of the best natural third trimester nausea solutions.
  • Have ginger –– Ginger makes for an amazing remedy to settle your stomach and reduce your risk of vomiting. Have hubby make you a fresh cup of ginger tea first thing in the morning, or mix some ginger into your food. Heck, you can even juice fresh ginger root and add it into your AM juice/smoothie.
  • Try ginger ale –– Ginger ale is another great way to settle your stomach. You don’t need to drink it cold, but you can keep a bottle by your bed at all times. Don’t worry if it goes flat–it’s actually more effective once it’s lost the carbonation. Sip it until the nausea goes away.

  • Have a cup of tea –– There are a number of teas that can soothe and settle your stomach, such as peppermint, raspberry leaf, and anise tea. These teas will do wonders to help fight your nausea, so keep an electric tea kettle by your bedside for a quick cup of morning tea if you feel nausea coming on.
  • Rub your belly –– You can make a simple soothing belly rub, using peppermint oil mixed with chamomile oil (1 drop of peppermint per 3 drops of chamomile). Rub the mixture onto your stomach, and it will help to calm your stomach and reduce your nausea.
  • Eat crackers –– It’s a well-known fact that crackers help to soothe your stomach. Both the dry white flour and the high baking soda content can reduce your risk of vomiting. Make sure to always have crackers on your nightstand. Choose Saltines or Ritz any day.
  • Try apple juice –– If your morning sickness is the result of low blood sugar, a cup of apple juice by your bed can be just what you need to keep your blood sugar up throughout the night. Any time you get up in the night (to pee, move around, etc.), take a sip of apple juice. You’ll wake up in the morning with normal blood sugar levels.
  • Try lemon drops –– Lemon is surprisingly soothing for your stomach, and lemon drops can help to drive away your morning sickness. Try to find the sour, unsweetened lemon drops, and have them handy for those days when you need something to calm your stomach.
