Style Spotting: Can You Be Chic AND Warm?

The answer is yes, although take a walk through Times Square, and you might think otherwise. Stick to the following tricks for dressing warm, and you’ll never fall victim to winter clothes.

Don’t wear sequined Uggs. This is easy to do – just don’t wear them. Nothing sucks the joy out of the holidays faster than a pair of sequined Uggs.

Go for chic, warm layers. For this, it doesn’t get any better than Cuddl Duds. I’m newly obsessed with their plain black long-sleeved shirt. Its buttery soft fabric keeps me warm, while being chic enough to make me want to layer it under my fave blazer for a night out.

When wearing your bulky goosedown, opt for a bold lip. As much as I’ve tried to resist succumbing to shapeless goosedown coats, there’s no getting around wearing them when the temps drop. Whenever I wear mine, I’m always sure to slap on a bright lipcolor. Nothing screams, “Don’t worry everyone, I’m wearing a cute outfit under this coat,” like a bold red lip.
