High School Fashion in 1969

There is no Forever 21 in sight. Abercrombie and Juicy Couture are so far out of the picture, no one even thought to make fun of them. I never thought I would EVER be inspired by the clothes of high school students (unless those today have long strayed from the velour sweatsuit/hoop earring path that I took), but the photos you’re about to see are like vintage street style fashion blog pics. For some reason, after looking at these late 60s teen fashionistas, I feel like I am open to Pucci a little bit more and am not completely opposed to shawls…?

Aren’t skirts supposed to be, like, an inch above your knee these days? Whatever – this teacher is the chicest.

On Wednesdays, we wear Pucci tights. Ugh I’m jealous of these mod looks and how this group of friends matches! You can’t sit with us!

All of these outfits are everything. I mean, the red knee socks, the bold color-blocked high-waisted bellbottoms, the monochromatic middle number, and that dark fashiony one in the back.

For some reason, overalls and that hat could never look this good in 2013. Why?!?

Wait, Coachella?

Ahh, there’s my shawl that I’m kind of into.

And another shawl.
