5 Reasons to Love Fall

Loving fall
Written by emilyc

Fall is arguably the best season of them all. Sure, you love summer, but remember all those times you went for margaritas and ended up sweating through your crop top and ruining your straightened hair that was already a little bit ruined thanks to the humidity? Things like that just don’t happen during fall. The weather is on your side, the fashion magazines are thicker, the lipsticks darker, the wardrobes more flattering, and the food and drinks more pumpkin-spicier. Let’s delve further into 5 reasons to love this season.

Loving fall

1. Clandestine spanx. ‘Tis the season for layers a.k.a. the season during which you can wear Spanx with no one suspecting. You too, men. Go ahead and wear that compression shirt while simultaneously eating your “low fat” Starbucks pumpkin bread.

2. Ideal weather. As I mentioned, the humidity is on your team during the fall, which means everyday is a good hair day. Gorgeous temperatures summon you to get outside and be productive, or not be productive (as demonstrated above). Just think of all the Instagram opportunities as the leaves change.

3. Black leather. One time I tried to wear black leather shorts in July. I thought I’d be ok seeing as how they were shorts, but no. Now that it’s autumn, nature is like, “Go ahead, wear the leather shorts. Soon, I’ll cool down enough for you to even wear your leather pants sans sweat.”

4. Everything is available in pumpkin spice. Everything. Today, the barista at Starbucks said to me, “You know, you can add pumpkin spice to any drink.” Pumpkin spice lemonade? Pumpkin spice green tea? The possibilities are endless. Fall is not over until the very thought of pumpkin spice makes you contract diabetes and beg for peppermint season, already.

5. Fashion and fashion magazines. Fashion is extra exciting during fall. Fall collections are always more opulent, cozy, and enticing than any spring/summer collection ever has been or ever will be. Plaid is always acceptable, you can wear all your favorite pieces at once, thanks to layering, and you can dress up like those fall Pinterest photos of frail girls in over-sized knits holding warm beverages. Plus, it’s September issues season when fashion magazines turn in to encyclopedias of trends that no app or style.com visit could ever match.
