The thing about JVDB is, he was probably the worst part of Dawson’s Creek. His character was perpetually on uppers. Dawson was that friend that talks so much, so fast, that little pools of dried, white spit gathered in the corners of his mouth and you’re like ‘…ew. Please cease talking at me and clean yourself up’.
But JVDB made up for all of that. Varsity Blues allowed us to envision the film-obsessed, verbose Dawson as a jock. A jock that people would sleep with. And do we even need to discuss the excellence that was Sean Batemen of Rules of Attraction? Men and women alike were like, ‘DAMN. WANT @ BANG U.’
