The words “I am woman, hear me roar” have never been interpreted more literally than in these illustrations by London-based illustrationist Ruben Ireland. Part woman, part wild, the dynamic juxtapositions arranged in each piece create a tension that draws you in and won’t let you look away. Ireland builds mood and structure in each piece by combining dirty water, acrylic, foods, and weathered paper, similar to how birds build a nest with whatever supplies they can find in their surroundings…
