A Japanese company has decided it’s a good idea to sell hand cream that smells like cat paws, because Japan.
This week has been really great for me in terms of finding stories that make me question my own humanity. Apparently in Japan, the smell of cat’s paws is a thing. Japanese women love the smell so much, that a company called Felissimo has started marketing a hand cream that smells like cats paws.
In order to research the product, Felissimo went to cat cafes, and a perfumery. They also reached out on social media to ask random people what their cat’s paws smelled like. Some people said crepes, some said wheat, but most said that their cats paws smelled like popcorn.

So now you can pay for hand cream that smells like popcorn, which is what Japanese women associate with sniffing cat feet.
My big question is, how brave are these people to go around smelling cats paws? Aren’t cat’s paws those things at the end of their legs filled with sharp, curved biological blades?
There’s no way in Hell I am letting a cat’s paw anywhere near my money maker.
