We all come in different shapes and sizes, and some items are better for flattering our figures than others. How do you hide that belly bulge or enhance your cleavage without surgery? The general rule for figure disguise is to subtly emphasize your best attributes to flatter your figure. Here are some basic tips to keep in mind.
Rules for every figure:
1. Dark colors minimize and light colors maximize .
2. Clothing should fit you. Buy the correct size. Oversized garments only make you look larger.
Curvy - Show off your assets. Wear tailored styles and stretch fabrics to emphasize your curves. Choose belted jackets and pencil skirts. Avoid baggy tops and chunky knits, they will make you look bulky. Keep it fitted but not too tight.
Petite -Â Choose styles that fit well. You want to show off and flatter a small frame. Petite frames look good in Capri pants, classic shift dresses and cropped jackets. Avoid excess material, long skirts and wide trousers as they will only make you look smaller.
Busty - Wear scoop and v-necks, fitted jackets and a well fitting supportive seamless bra. Remember that attempting to cover up a large chest only accentuates it. Avoid patterns, ruffles and stripes.
Pin Thin (Boyish) – Keep garments well tailored. Try jackets, tops and dresses that are shaped in at the waist, or create instant curves by cinching clothes in with a wide belt. Avoid skin-tight tops or loose fitting and baggy garments. You want to create a shape not make it dissapear.
Â
“Bootylicious” -Â Wear dark colored bottoms to slim down your booty. Move the focus up with shoulder baring top or a great necklace. Keep your bottom half simple with wide leg pants, A line skirt or a straight skirt with a sexy slit. Avoid pleated pants or skirts and jackets that end at the waist or widest part of your hip. Also stay away from denim with details.
The best advice for everyone is to be confident and happy with yourself regardless of your shape or size. Confidence is the sexiest thing anyone can wear and it’s one size fits all!
