A realistic Barbie doll.

Mattel has come out with a Barbie young tech-savvy kids can relate to.

When I was a kid, my favorite Barbie was ‘peaches and cream’ Barbie. Back then, you didn’t really have to have a job to be Barbie, you just had to have a cutesy gown and a plastic vagina. Back in the day, Mattel released a ‘computer engineer’ Barbie, but she had a pink laptop that matched her pink glasses, but she was still kind of superficial and trampy looking.

Game developer Barbie is wearing jeans, normal shoes, and typical clothes. She isn’t skewed towards a feminine demographic or look, and Ken is nowhere to be found.

In this day and age its more important than ever for little girls and boys to know they can be whatever they want to be, so Mattel took a step in the right direction with this doll, if you ask me.
