Director Adam Shankman tells the Associated Press, “I’m going to kill that rumor now – that got killed. I was so happy with the first one, let’s leave well enough alone. It’s all good.”
Shankman tried to go a different route with the Hairspray sequel; he tried to make the film go into an in-depth look at each character. Â Obviously this is not going to work out. How many more times can Hairspray be filmed? The only reason anyone watched it was to see Zac Effron. (Who was on board to star in the second film). Adam Shankman, who choreographed the film, can take his dance moves elsewhere.
