How I Met Your Dad will not be a part of CBS’ fall TV schedule.
If you follow the TV schedule drama, you may already know that the “talked about show” is not happening for CBS. (Full Disclosure: This is the first I’m hearing of it.) As you know, How I Met Your Mother had a very successful 9 season run, comparable to the 10 seasons of Friends and 8 seasons of Will & Grace.

It was reported back in November that CBS had went ahead and ordered the pilot of HIMYD. The story was going to tell the story of Ted Mosby from a female’s perspective. However, the show would be stock full of a completely different cast and characters. Nina Tassler, a higher up at CBS, went ahead and let everyone know that things just didn’t work out with the pilot.
However, this doesn’t mean this is the end of the line. This gives the producers the opportunity to shop the pilot around somewhere else. Greta Gerwig was set to have a lead role in the spin-off sitcom.
