I Hope They Serve Taco Bell in Heaven

Written by Maura

The past couple months it seems there has been a curse on celebs..I mean MJ, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays and now (prepare yourselves) the Taco Bell dog. I know, it’s heartbreaking..the little Chihuahua(named Gidget) who delivered the famous “Yo quiero Taco Bell” line has passed away at the age of 15. By the way, who knew that chihuahua was a girl? They always had that manly mexican accented voice dubbed over her cutie little face. Anyway, she brought the joy that is Taco Bell into so many lives, as if there was any kind of advertising necessary for me to want Taco Bell..that stuff is my jam.

Anyway, in light of Gidget’s passing, I thought I’d find some ways for us to appreciate our pets more. How about a nice relaxing day at the Spa? The New York City grime and hustle and bustle effects not only our looks and moods but our precious pets as well. So maybe one day instead of keeping your pooch in the crate while you are at work, drop them off at The New York Dog Spa & Hotel. With two locations in Manhattan, the spa provides boarding, daycare, grooming and training.

You know how much we humans love social networking, right? So why wouldn’t Fido like it too? Head to Pets Run.com and set up a profile for your pet. PetsRun.com is a fun little Facebook-type site where you can chat with others as your pets..maybe your dog wants to enter the world of online dating..maybe he’ll find the love of his life. You can also get tons of info from other petowners about things like pet friendly hotels, which pets are best when you have allergies, and where the best dog parks are–super helpful because other dog people know best!

So in honor of little Gidget munching on her cheesy gordita crunch in heaven, lets start a makeshift pamper your pet week, and take advantage of all the city can offer your pet!
