The internet is salivating over reports that J Lo broke down into tears after performing “One Love” Saturday night. The singer called it the last song she wrote about love (adding, “A lot has changed since then.”)
The performance called for Diddy, Cris Judd, Ben Affleck, and Marc Anthony lookalikes to join her on stage (really?) and just when I’d started to believe that J Lo (JUST LIKE US) got in touch with her inner emo on stage, I found concert attendees who say the drama created by other sources is just that — a soap opera tale that has no roots in reality.
Eric R. Danton, a reporter from the Hartford Courant, says this of the fabricated story circulating major news outlets: “She followed “If You Had My Love” with what she said was “the last song I wrote about love,” “One Love,” which featured dancing couples on stage who resembled her and her various paramours over the years. When the song ended, she stood for a few moments on stage, basking in the waves of adulation enveloping her and making that awww face people make to acknowledge feeling touched by some kind gesture — for example, adulation from a capacity crowd.”
The story was originally picked up by Radar online, but other players helped perpetuate the dramz, including Maria Menounos, who was covering the concert Saturday night. From her Twitter account: “She is really crying right now…audience going wild!!! This place is shaking!!!”
