Kale isn’t the healthiest green out there.
Whoever has been doing the PR for kale definitely needs a serious raise. It’s crazy to look at the timeline of kale and see how far it has come in just under a year. It’s almost on the same level as “juicing,” only we’re eating this time. You may think that kale is the healthiest green for you to have, but you’re wrong.

Did you know that kale doesn’t have every last thing you need? It’s low on carbohydrates, protein and basically fat free. While people who eat kale may be striving for perfection, they definitely won’t find it in kale. Sara Haas, a dietitian and Acadamy of Nutrition and Dietetics Spokesperson, told Harper’s Bazaar that there is yet to be a food that has all the nutrients our body needs.
When it comes to sticking to the product, these 7 greens outrank kale in the essential nutrients count:
- Watercress
- Chinese cabbage
- Chard
- Beet green
- Spinach
- Chicory
- Leaf Lettuce
