Loving Hoppr by Absolut (and I threw a party with it)

Written by Bryce

Hoppr by Absolut by simplifying my party-throwing process, and I’m totally down for that.

I frequently hold small somewhat informal parties at my home— I mean, I’m basically queen of the ‘come over for dinner and cocktails at 7’ concept since in a lot of ways, hosting a group of 10 to 20 people is so much easier than going out. Hosting a party takes the complications out of hanging out with a big group of people— I like when I can choose the drinks, the food, and the ambiance, and there’s also the added benefit of me being able to kick my heels off wherever, and whenever I want. The only pain in the tush is the guest list, which is super important because when it comes to buying the right amount of food and drink for the party, you can’t just take a wild guess.

Hoppr by Absolut just launched and it’s basically my new fave system for throwing my small but frequent parties at Casa Gruber-Hermon (yes, that’s seriously what I call my NYC apartment).

Hoppr by Absolut is a mobile digital platform that connects party throwers and party goers like never before— think of it as a streamlined combo of party listings, invitations, and details. Just head to AbsolutHoppr.com via your mobile device and post your own party (where your friends can easily interact and see all the relevant details), or just go on to see what kind of parties are happening around you. For all you know, your may see your neighbor is hosting his or her own Christmas party and finally have a good excuse to break the ice with them. Like, “Hi! Saw you’re having a big holiday tacos-and-drinks fiesta tomorrow, that’s so cool!” Keep your fingers crossed for the nod of approval inviting you to their taco fest, obvi.

It’s a new mobile platform, but it has already helped me throw a super fun and casual Hanukkah party for a bunch of my husband’s co-workers last week. It was so helpful because although I know most of the guys in his office by first name and face, I’m pretty bad about remembering everyone’s last names and emails so Hoppr was a perfect place to put the party up– and so much easier than getting a ton of annoying ‘should I bring something?’ emails. It took me about 5 minutes to make and list the event, so I could spend the rest of my time sourcing giant dreidels (nope, not kidding), latkes, doughnuts (these are a traditional Hanukkah treat), and blue and silver bottles of Absolut Electrik. Total side note, if you haven’t already seen the Absolut Electrik bottles, you need to. The colors are perfect for Hanukkah festivities, obviously, but they’re also completely gorgeous for any nighttime event. I mean, who wouldn’t want a chrome-looking bottle on their top shelf? And don’t worry, it’s the same delish Absolut Original Vodka inside the bottle that we all know and love.

By the day before our Hanukkah gathering of about 15 people, we had the guest list complete with no surprises, the right amount of potatoes, doughnuts and drinks were purchased, and the house was decorated with all sorts of fun homemade art (I’m big on DIY festive decor, what can I say). The party was fabulous, and the best part of Hoppr by Absolut just may be that you can clearly say “THIS IS WHEN THE PARTY ENDS, YOU GUYS.” By 10pm people were shuffling out of here, I was throwing garbage out, and getting ready to plop myself into a face mask and fleece pajamas.

You can use Hoppr by Absolut  easily by going to absoluthoppr.com and signing in with your existing Facebook account (it literally takes under a minute). Post parties, go to parties, do your thing… I can’t wait till I do it again.

This post is in partnership with  Absolut Vodka, but the opinions are my own and I really did use and love using Hoppr by Absolut to host my Hanukkah party. Enjoy responsibly.
