Here’s your daily dose of WTF. NYC, my home, now boasts a Fancy Rat Convention. It’s exactly what it sounds like- a bunch of disgusting rodents covered in fanciness. If you’ve ever wanted to see a rat in a tutu and sparkles, this is your big chance. This is also your big chance to consider living in another city, because I’m having serious doubts about raising my son here now.
Sorry to hear you are so afraid of these creatures. I have had 5 of them in my life and can tell you they are wonderful, sweet loving pets. They are amazing, smart little creatures capable of a wide range of emotions. They were all kitty litter trained and could come when I called them. Their personalities were a cross between a dog and a cat. They are also very social and need to be in two’s at all times or they get depressed. I knew of a rich lady in Aspen, Colorado who had two and were treated like royalty, she would even travel with them on her private jet. I never thought I would have had so many and when each died over the years was more heart broken then with any other pet. I promise they are nothing like Hollywood likes to portray them in movies or t.v. I would advise anyone though to do their research before getting one since they can be expensive with vet bills.
