Opening Day of Fashion Week Recap!

Written by Bryce

Recession?  Who noticed??!  Yesterday’s opening day of MB Fashion Week in NYC was a star-studded fashion lovefest.  Shoppers were wild all over town in celebration of Fashion’s Night Out, which was the brainchild of Anna Wintour.  Celebs, designers, and social sluts galore packed the scene.  And our opening night fest at Aspen Social Club was a wild good time.

Our editors at Bergdorf Goodman found the Olsen twins bartending while rockstar-designers Cynthia Rowley and Peter Som competed in the kitchen a la Top Chef.

Justin Timberlake, Charlize Theron and Kate Hudson were floating about town… and shopping.  Amber Tamblyn rocked out at our own party.

So here’s a recap for you fashionistas…

BCBG

BCBG Max Azria was a dress-lover… the runway was packed with flirtation.   The dresses ranged in composition: some as elegant gowns and others as tshirt-esque casual numbers.  The dresses weren’t super-simple like other designers… BCBG is known for elegance and detail, and they kept it up.  Aysemtrical hems, patchwork, prints galore.  Shoes? Wrap around leather.

LAMB

Gwen Stefani is basically the lady behind the whole 80’s fashion craze, and for good reason.  This woman knows how to rock out form fitting clothes, funky prints, bold attitudes, and basically anything that reminds you of Wall Street’s good ole days.

Think creams, peaches, and anything you’d be asked to wear to an elegant waspy wedding in the late spring… probably in Cape Cod.

Leather and tshirt dresses?  But she made it look so good!

MICHAEL ANGEL

I think Michael Angel didn’t get the memo: THE ECONOMY HAS CRASHED.  He’s still packing the runways with glitz and glamour.
