Lab-grown penis transplant trials will soon be entering the human testing phase.
Girl meets boy. Boy is perfect on paper, and is great with her family. Girl really likes boy, so she decides to keep her legs closed for once. Girl falls for boy and marries him. On their wedding night, girl realizes boy’s penis doesn’t even reach her vagina. Girl is shit out of luck.
This scenario happens all too often unfortunately, but thanks to science it will soon be a thing of the past.
Researchers from the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina are currently assessing lab-grown penises to decide if they are a viable option for men who were born with congenital conditions, or have had accidents or cancer. This means it is really only a matter of time before you can buy a penis.
So far, the team has successfully engineered rabbit penises, and is looking to get approval from the FDA to start human trials. The process uses a donor penis which has been cleansed of donor cells, then uses the patients own cells to create the remainder of the penis.
Unfortunately since the penis requires penis cells from the patient, it isn’t a viable option for transsexuals, but it is still a step in the right direction.

The penis team is currently testing the possibilities for re-engineering tissue to help men with erectile dysfunction, which should lead to the future possibility of an entire penis transplant.
I can’t believe I have gotten through a whole post about penises without saying the words dick, cock, or knobgoblin.
Oops.
