Rachel Roy

Most people celebrate their birthdays once a year with cakes, parties, and presents, but this year, designer Rachel Roy has decided to give up celebrating her 36th birthday and give the gift of clean water to people in need.

Rachel’s goal is to raise $15,000 by March 15, 2010 to help aid the 1 billion people in the world with no access to safe drinking water. Each donation made to Rachel’s water charity supports water projects to help those communities in need around the world.

Rachel decided to start a charity for water was a result of her travels abroad. During Rachel’s travels, she saw first hand the hardships caused by the lack of safe drinking water.

With everyone’s help made through donations, clean water can be given to 750 people, 150 families and 3 communities clean water.
