Welcome back to 1999! Today is a historic day for the homosexual community and former Ricky Martin fans from 10 years ago. Ricky Martin finally admitted to what everyone already knew: that he is a “homosexual man” according to his blog posted today. As a straight girl and a non-celebrity (except in England), I can only assume it has to be hard to make something that is extremely private, very public. That being said, did he really think it would be a big deal? I mean honestly Ricky. You haven’t had a hit since I was in high school, and even then your videos were a bit suspect. I am still glad you decided to come out because everyone knows us girls here at The Luxury Spot hold gay men very close to our hearts.
After a couple of my favorite gay friends informed me of his induction into the “gayborhood,” I wondered if maybe he’ll come out with another album! I’m going to start a rumor now and guess that he will be shaking it down 5th Ave. at the Pride Parade. If not, I know there are a LOT of people hoping to still see him “shake his bon bon” even after all these years.
