Over the weekend I saw the film, The Place Beyond the Pines. I have to say, I loved it. I am always incredibly hard on Hollywood films, especially ones that star big celebs like Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper, but I have to say this film was really tremendous.
The film is about motorcycle stunt rider Luke, played by Ryan Gosling who gets Eva Mendes’ character pregnant. Once she has the child he decides he needs to get serious and start making money, and goes about this is unlawful ways. The film also shifts stories and introduces Avery, played by Bradley Cooper, who is the police officer who is working opposite against Luke’s crimes. Within a story of action, there was romance, tragedy, thriller, and mystery.
