Sandals and Socks: Love or Hate?

Written by Bryce

Sandals and socks have come back (were they ever “in?”) and we’re wondering where you stand on the issue.

The normcore sandal trend was one I actually embraced– I’ll admit it, I had my silver Birkenstocks out more than I probably should’ve, and I was even totally onboard with the hipsters-wearing-Tevas trend that took over the entirety of Brooklyn this past summer. But sandals with socks. Even the best bamboo socks. Some things are just forbidden—isn’t wearing this trend just as weird as having sex on your period or believing McDonald’s serves healthy food?

What is perhaps the most interesting is that this trend has the potential to cross gender lines, meaning we’ll be seeing trendy boys (first, always first) rocking this trend and then eventually it’ll trickle right on down to your boyfriend. In fact, by next season, there’s a good chance you’ll be encouraging your husband (I mean, fast forward a year, right?) to wear these in his pursuit of beach chic. How do you feel about them apples?

I need to know, and I need to know honestly: are you open to this trend, or is it a sign of the apocalypse? DISCUSS.
