I’m a huge fan of second-hand clothing. They fit better, they’re vintage, and they’re cheap. Sometimes, they’re even free! Such is the case this Sunday at Sixth Ward, a bar in the LES. Give & Take is the first of many monthly clothing swap events being hosted by Sauvage Studio and No 1s Done It Right.
With a $5 suggested donation, Give & Take is a great way to refresh your wardrobe, get rid of the items you’ve grown less-than-fond of, justify drinking on a Sunday afternoon, and give back to the community via Housing Works: a local charity dedicated to ending the AIDS and homelessness epidemic prevalent in New York.
How to participate: Bring a bag (or many bags) of your unwanted clothes to Sixth Ward to gain entry, then dig through the clothing of other participants! Sort of like digging through your friend’s closet, except you get to keep anything you want. All leftover clothing will be donated to Housing Works, along with your $5 donation and your bar tabs.
