After a long winter, some spring cleaning, and the return of my summer threads, the verdict is in. I need an entirely new wardrobe. I’m utterly unimpressed with everything I’ve unearthed from 2008. You try combining a couple of extra pounds with last year’s styles– all you’ll come up with is one hot mess of a closet and maybe a tiny self-esteem issue. It’s not that my summer clothes are heinous enough to throw away, but they’re just played out. They don’t fit anymore. Like a soon-to-be ex boyfriend, I know they’ll satiate someone for the upcoming summer months; that someone is just not me.
Luckily, there’s another Give & Take clothing swap this Sunday. From 3PM-6PM on June 7th, bring your previously loved clothing down to The White Box Gallery (329 Broome St.), where there’ll be a DJ, refreshments, and all the swapping your little heart and empty wallet desires.
As always, Give & Take is hosted by Sauvage Studio and No One’s Done It Right, in collaboration with White Box. A $5 donation is suggested ($10 if you don’t bring a bag of clothing to swap). All leftover clothing will be donated to Housing Works.
See you there!
