Find out what this awesome plant can do for you!

Horsetail, also known as Equisetum Hyemale, is a plant found all over the world. It looks like an alfalfa plant, but it offers a wide range of health benefits you don’t get from other plants. Here are some of the many health benefits of horsetail:

  1. Anti-inflammatory — Horsetail has shown that it has the ability to reduce inflammation in the human body. The anti-inflammatory properties are boosted by its natural analgesic properties, meaning it’s effective at reducing pain as well as swelling.
  2. Antioxidants –– Horsetail contains strong antioxidant properties that, when extracted, can help to slow or stymie the development of cancerous cells. The plant contains a lot of phytochemicals as well, making it an effective scavenger of free radicals.
  3. Brain boost –– Horsetail may be able to help boost your brain power, as well as both your long and short-term memory. The antioxidant content of the plant will go a long way toward keeping your brain healthy.
  4. Antimicrobial –– Worried about germs, pathogens, and microbes? Worry no longer, thanks to horsetail! This plant contains over 25 compounds that can fight microbes, germs, and fungi–including E.coli, Staphylococcus, and Salmonella. Talk about beneficial for your health!
  5. Bone-friendly — Osteoporosis has become a greater threat in recent years, but horsetail may be able to prevent it from being a problem! Horsetail has a high silica content, and silica is needed to keep the cells of your bones bonded strongly. By increasing your silicon consumption, you can increase bone density and reduce your risk of bone degeneration.

  1. Lung treatment –– If you have bronchitis, nasal blockages, or a dry cough (usually the result of an irritation or infection of the lungs), you may want to try horsetail. A tea made from horsetail is a popular remedy to treat the symptoms of colds and flus. You can inhale the vapors from the tea to clear out your sinuses, and drink a few cups of horsetail tea daily to treat pulmonary infections.
  2. Nail boost — If you’re suffering from brittle nails, soak the fingernails in a cup of horsetail tea or horsetail extract daily. Soaking the nails will help to soften and strengthen them, and can eliminate the white spots. Just 10 minutes a day is enough to start seeing the benefits!
  3. Diabetes –– While horsetail tea isn’t a cure for diabetes, it’s a remedy that will help you to get your diabetes under control. The horsetail tea helps to control your blood sugar levels, keeping them at a low or normal level. If you drink a cup of the tea before eating a meal, it can go a long way toward preventing blood sugar spikes.
  4. Hair boost –– Want to have thicker, healthier, more lustrous hair?  Wash your hair with shampoo that has horsetail extract mixed in, and use horsetail tea as a rinse. The tea will help to increase circulation to your scalp, decrease dandruff, and boost hair growth. Even just drinking the stuff will help to improve your hair health!
  5. Oral health boost –– Worried about the condition of your teeth or gums? Brew up a pot of horsetail tea and use it as a gargle or mouthwash. Not only will it help to reduce the swelling in your tonsils, but it can deal with mouth sores and treat/prevent gum infections. It’s an amazing remedy that will keep your mouth in great shape.

Try these horsetail remedies, and see if they don’t work for you!
