The healthiest snacks for women are tastier than you think, so grab your appetite and read on:

Snacking is an excellent way to eat smarter and healthier. When you feel those hunger pangs coming on between meals, they may be too much to ignore. You can’t just push away the hunger and pretend that it doesn’t exist. So what do you do? You have a snack!

Having a snack is the key to staving off hunger pangs, boosting energy, and promoting healthy nutrition. If you are trying to diet or control your food intake, you’ll find that snacking is the key to staying faithful to your eating plans.

Here are some of the healthiest snacks for women to add to their diets:

  1. Oats — Granola, oatmeal, and muesli are three delicious forms of oats that you can eat. Oats make a wonderful snack because they are high in nutrients (protein, carbs, fiber, minerals, etc.) but they are also very filling. A small serving of oats will be all you need to avoid hunger for hours.
  2. Peanut Butter — Peanut butter is rich in fats, but it’s the good kind of fat that your body needs. The Vitamin E in peanut butter does wonder for your skin, hair, nails, and circulatory system. It’s also very filling and will satiate your mouth’s desire for something rich and tasty.
  3. Nuts — It’s easy to overeat when snacking on nuts, but that’s where self-control comes in handy. A handful of peanuts, almonds, walnuts, or cashews will add about 200 calories to your daily food intake, but you’ll find that even a small amount of nuts is fairly filling thanks to their high fiber content.
  4. Seeds –– Pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, and sunflower seeds are just a few of the many seed options that make a wonderful snack. They aren’t as high in calories as nuts, but they contain a lot more fiber. Plus, they keep your mouth occupied, as they are much harder to eat than a handful of nuts.
  5. Avocadoes –– Avocadoes contain a lot of Vitamin E and healthy fatty acids, and though they’re high in calories, you’ll find that they’re wonderful for your health. You can make a batch of guacamole and eat it with carrot sticks, cucumber slices, or lettuce leaves.

  1. Yoghurt –– Rich in calcium, protein, and healthy fats, yoghurt is a food you should eat on a daily basis. Not only does it pack a nutrient punch, but it’s surprisingly filling. It takes a while for your body to digest yoghurt, so you won’t feel the hunger pangs.
  2. Hummus –– Chick peas are high in fiber and protein, making hummus one of the healthiest snacks for women and men alike. You may find that you get a few too many calories if you add pita to the snack, so stick with hummus and veggies!
  3. Chocolate –– Dark, natural, bittersweet chocolate is one of the healthiest snacks you can eat. First off, it will satisfy your craving for something sweet and shut down your appetite. It will also give you an infusion of antioxidants that will do wonders for your health!
  4. Popcorn –– Not the stuff you’d buy in the cinema, but the kind you make at home. Air-popped popcorn is incredibly low in calories, and you can eat pretty much as much as you want without overdoing it.
  5. Egg –– Few people think of eating an egg as an ideal snack, but you’ll find that a boiled egg makes the perfect snack. You get about 90 calories if you eat the yolk, but that number drops to less than 20 if you only eat the white. It’s high in protein and stops you from being hungry for hours to come.
