Gym rats seem to have it all: lots of money and time, good bodies, fancy clothes, and the latest gadgets. Now it turns out they have better sex too? How is this fair?

Simple: being fit makes your sex better. Here are a few reasons gym rats have better sex:

  1. Their heads are in the right place — Sex isn’t just a physical thing; the brain has a large role to play in the quality and quantity of sex. Exercise helps to reduce stress, balance your emotions, and get your head in the right place. As a result, you’ll have a higher sex drive and less stress to get in the way of great sex.
  2. They’re more flexible –– Do I really need to spell out why it’s easier to have great sex when you’re flexible?
  3. They’re more confident –– Having a good body builds confidence, and confidence is a key to feeling sexy. The sexier you feel, the more you exude that confidence–which makes you appealing to your partner. Definitely a good reason to get in shape!
  4. They’re stronger — When you’re trying new and unique sex positions, muscular strength is a must! Even just simple sex requires a bit of strength, so those with strong muscles have an easier time having sex.
  5. Their blood flows better — What do you think causes the physical sensation of arousal? It’s a rush of blood to the genitals. Those who work out have better circulation, meaning more blood can reach their genitals more quickly.

  5. They have fewer inhibitions — The more comfortable you are with your body, the easier it is to get rid of the inhibitions that stop you from enjoying sex like a rockstar. Imagine how hard it is to get in the mood if you’re worried about your partner touching that extra belly flab or your butt cellulite. With a fit body, there’s no “danger zones” to worry about, so it’s easier to stay in the mood.
  6. Their sex is just physically better –– Women with lower body fat have an easier time lubricating, and their desire for sex is higher. This latter result is thanks to the balancing of their hormones, ensuring that they have higher levels of estrogen over testosterone (the male hormone that reduces female sex drive).
