I have to be honest, I have never really played Pokemon. In fact, I don’t even know what it is. This is probably because I have never been a preteen Japanese kid, but it might also have to do with the fact that I’m 33, and may have missed the boat on it. I will say that I can recognize a worldwide trend when I see one though, and Pokemon are a pretty ingenious idea. The animals don’t make any kind of realistic sense, and yet people all over the world are willing to pay for them, and play with them. So in honor of that, here are some Pokemon, rendered as more realistic-looking animals. Can you imagine if these creatures actually existed? The world would be a much more interesting place.
