Reasons Not to Delete Your Ex’s Number

Written by Lana

you never know, maybe your ex is good for something

Ugh! I cringe when I read the reason not to delete my ex’s number because I have a tendency to think I am a super independent chick that doesn’t need her ex boyfriends. Well, in the end deleting his number is more frustrating. My favorite reasons from The Frisky on why I should keep my ex’s number are:

GETTY

GETTY

  1. He might actually call. – You don’t recognize the number, and you answer with an innocent “hello?” It’s him, now you’re stuck on the phone making awkward small talk. The call could have simply been avoided with the “Do Not Answer” button. This has happened too many times, and I fall for it over and over again because I jump to quick to answer, not fun.
  2. Why can’t you be friends? Someday (far into the future), after your battle wounds have healed, you might want to keep in touch with this person. After all, you did have some good times together. It would be a shame to lose a potential friend over fights that happened years ago. Why can’t we be friends, there was obviously something that I liked in him at one point, it can’t hurt to be friendly with him.
  3. Rekindle an old flame. Maybe, after all the heartbreak, there is still relationship potential. Deleting his number out of spite could hurt you later on. I hate to say it, but this could happen, sometimes I have to get off my high horse and let my heart go the thinking for once, maybe it was meant to be.
