Ingredients
- 1 cup Milton’s Organic Himalayan Salt Crackers, finely crushed
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ½ cup melted butter or margarine (though we love real butter here)
- 4 whole medium, tart apples peeled and sliced
- 6 tbsp whipped cream (or go wild and break out the vanilla ice cream!)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the crushed cracker crumbs, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter. Do your best not to eat it as-is.
- Divide sliced apples into six ramekins.
- Top with crumb mixture.
- Microwave, uncovered, on high for 3-5 minutes or until apples are tender.
- Serve warm with whipped topping or a scoop of ice cream!
Gear you’ll need
- A large mixing bowl
- A set of six ramekins (we love these cheap ramekins from Amazon—super easy to clean and store thanks to included lids)
Notes
Using the microwave makes this recipe incredibly fast and easy, but if you prefer a crisper topping you can pop them in the air fryer or standard oven on 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 1 minute to finish the top layer off with crunch.
