Elegant Harry Potter weddings can actually exist.
I know the words ‘classy’ and ‘Harry Potter wedding’ don’t typically go together, but newlyweds Cassie and Lewis Byrom basically handed all the hating muggles of the world a big bag of ‘eff you’ by planning and executing a Harry Potter wedding so classy, it makes me actually want to read the books.
The pair was married at Manchester Town Hall, after Lewis proposed at Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter last year. They held the reception at Manchester’s Midland Hotel, which as you can see, is basically the Hogwart’s of reception venues. To create the whole experience, the couple gave handmade wands to 130 guests, the bouquet was made out of actual pages from the Harry Potter books, the tables were themed by Hogwart’s houses, and the bride’s garter and shoes were appropriately house-themed.

Let this be a lesson to anyone who wants to throw a themed wedding; there is an elegant way to pull it off. At the end of the day you may have to spend a little more, but wedding pictures tend to last a lifetime, so don’t be afraid to treat yoself.
