Advice SEX AND RELATIONSHIPS

How to Spice Up Your Marriage – emotionally

Written by Bryce

For all the married gals out there, you’re probably thinking “if I got more emotional stuff, I’d be willing to give more sexual stuff.” It’s a weird, common, vicious cycle that perpetuates forever and ever and leads us to trashy daytime talk shows and finding smut on his iPhone (yeah, there’s an app for that). We recently caught up with Andrea Syrtash, Dating & Relationship Expert & Author of Cheat On Your Husband (With Your Husband) for some ridiculously good advice on how to get back on track with your hubs. You’ll feel more nourished, and your Apple bill will likely go down as well.

1) Remember who you fell in love with. It’s so easy to forget what drew you to your partner in the first place and let’s be honest, what attracts you may repel you later! (You may have loved that he was spontaneous and now you’ll complain when he doesn’t make plans in advance. Try to remind yourself of these things!)
2) Date Talk. (Even if it’s just 15 minutes a day, dedicate time each day to connecting as partners, not just as parents/roommates. Therefore topics like bills, kids, housework are off the table!)
3) Stay curious. You may think you know everything about your partner, but he/she will evolve so you need to keep asking questions and stay curious. Your relationship should evolve as you evolve…
Andrea also has a fab dating book, single gals! Check out He’s Just Not Your Type (And That’s a Good Thing), it’ll change your perspective on dating 🙂
