Male hookers don’t really get much attention that often. I don’t know if its because they don’t dress in vinyl and fishnet stockings (or do they?) or because the exploitation of women is a much hotter topic than the exploitation of men (penis versus vagina) but I say it’s high time male prosties get a little of the limelight too. To celebrate that, here are a few truths about the male prostitution game that you may or may not know:
Most male ‘tutes are young. The age range of sex workers is usually between 20-30 years old. After all, if you want to fuck an old b-hole you could just sleep with your wife. Most male hookers also have brown hair and brown eyes, leading me to believe that a lot of them floated to this country, if you catch my drift (no pun intended). Editors Note: I wasn’t being racist with that statement, most of the male hookers I know are Latino.

Most clients are older, married men that identify as straight. This truth is not really that surprising given the rigidity of the established sex roles in our traditional society.
Most sex workers are entrepreneurs. I know this sounds funny, but nowadays hookers use The Internet to find clients. They also have no job security, and they constantly have to be out there, pounding the pavement (pun intended) sourcing new clients. I can totally respect this as a full time freelancer.
Sex workers are healthier than you think. In Australia, the STD rates of prosties are actually lower than the general population. Most of the hookers I know are pretty steadfast with condom usage, too. It’s not really that surprising if you think about it, because you are probably more conservative at your job than you are in real life, so imagine if your job was to get people off? No glove, no love, no insurance.
It’s a hard knock life.
