We have established that old people are really in right now. All the gray hair, dumpy clothes, and Metamucil cocktails I have encountered lately have got me thinking about old people, specifically the ones we are related to. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the opportunity to know my grandparents that well while they were alive, mostly because one side hated us because we aren’t white, and the other lives in some third world country where they make plastic toy parts for children to choke on.
Grandparents have the most interesting stories you will ever hear, and they are most likely of an age where they will say whatever comes to their mind without hesitation. Throw a few drinks into that mix and you’ve got the beginning of a very entertaining Wednesday night. So take the opportunity to get to know your grandparents while they are still around – you will be doing the fashionable thing by associating with them, and it will absolutely open your eyes to the fact that the world was rotating long before your pretty face appeared.
