I am not going to lie. I own a Flesh-light. It was a gift from a friend who bought it for his boyfriend (although I am not sure why someone would do this) and never gave it to him or used it. I played around with it for about a week and then left it in my closet to gather dust with other things I don’t use that include, but aren’t limited to: condoms. Just kidding.
Anyway, the whole idea of cyber sex just generally freaks me out. I understand that we live in a technological age and fantasy is a very important part to any sex life (even if that sex life is with yourself) but the invention pictured below just takes it a little too far. This concept device is designed to simulate the act of sex by attaching the Flesh-light to the bottom of an iPad or tablet device. This is almost as disturbing as those life-size Japanese silicon dolls that businessmen use to satiate their unhealthy school-girl fantasies.
My take on it is this: Of course I love to masturbate. Who doesn’t? But masturbation is by no means a substitute for affection, human contact, or sex. No matter who you are or what you look like, someone out there is desperate enough to have sex with you even if you have to pay them in Best Buy gift cards. So while I appreciate the ingenuity of this device, I don’t think people should rely on it to satisfy their carnal desires.
